NMED Hosts Six Public Meetings Statewide to Discuss $18M in Volkswagen Settlement Funds (See Schedule Below)

From August 14, 2017 through August 24, 2017 the New Mexico Environment Department will conduct public outreach meetings on the $18M Volkswagen settlement funds in Santa Fe (8/14), Las Cruces (8/16), Roswell (8/17), Albuquerque (8/21), Farmington (8/23), and Gallup (8/24). At these meetings, representatives of the Environment Department will provide more details on the VW settlement and solicit public input.

The New Mexico Environment Department will guide the creation of New Mexico’s Beneficiary Mitigation Plan (BMP) and with public input will determine how the funds will be distributed across various future projects to reduce the level of nitrogen oxide and bring environmental benefits.
