One of the most important Strategies For Better Communities is that there is fostered a mutual respect between government agencies and those whom they serve. Growing from respect is be trust. This is especially true with local institutions from councils and commissions, FD, PD, courts to the District Attorney office.

On June 11, 2016 DA Francesca Martinez-Estevez destroyed much of that trust and respect in 3 counties that the 6th Judicial District and DA Francesca serves, Grant, Luna, and Hidalgo. Now the NM Attorney General wants to know if she was abusing the right to use a government vehicle. While the Chiefs from SCPD and State cops apologized for their 3 officers screw-up in not doing their jobs in June (and the 3 got disciplined), DA Francesca hired a spin-meister to make lame excuses for her behavior in June and now accusing the NM AG of "Political Grandstand" in the latest probe.

Behind the high profile raid on the DA;s office and not being talked about yet are the perceived threats and intimidation the DA made to the SCPD cops that day in June that can clearly be heard on 2 body cams. What the AG will do about these remains to be seen.

A few weeks after the June incident I had an informal conversation with an ADA under DA Francesca who stated that the they don't care about public perception and the reputation of the DA's Office but I beg to differ, if the DA looses respect and trust then so does the office then it has to be ask, how can the population of 3 counties trust the DA's office to be fair and honest?

I don't know if she was drunk, addicted to prescribed opiates or some mind/body disorder she needs to fire her attorney and, short of resigning, talk to us, come clean with us and restore respect and trust in our judicial system.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
In this time of political and civic uncertainty, it's my hope that something positive will come of the search warrant effort.
Remember that unity is a big part of community. We can use all the uplift we can get right now.
