Gee, I hope you’re wrong about Dr. Shepard being paid for 800 hours of vacation time since his original contract limited the number of leave hours he could accrue to 450 hours. If we assume that he had the maximum 450 hours accrued when he was issued a new contract in October, 2014, and the maximum total number of hours that he could have added to the balance at 16 hours per month for 3 years is 576...that gives us a total of 1,026 hours as of October, 2017. If he was paid for 800 of those hours, that means that he took only 226 hours, or 28 days and 2 hours of vacation over the three year period of his last contract. That’s 9 days 3 hours of vacation time each year.

Does anybody know how many days he spends hiking/camping at the Grand Canyon each year? Even if that’s the only vacation time he takes during the whole year, those trips alone make me wonder how he could possibly have a balance of 800 hours remaining to be paid out.

Who audits the President’s leave time?
