Last week The Big Ditch got a new trail and it's deliciously shady. The trail, built by the Aldo High School YCC Trails Crew, connects the east end of the Market St bridge to the east end of 6th St bridge. In the photo above an Aldo YCC crew member wheels a load of rocks down the trail which were used to reenforce the trail and in some places to prevent a dirt slide onto the trail, to his right is the solar carport in the visitors center parking lot.

Looking south from the 6th St bridge the trail, in the very center of the photo, disappears into the shadows. Just a few feet from here is one of the 2 small water catchment basins to deal with culvert delivered water. The catchments were constructed by the Wellness Coalition YCC that also did, with Stream Dynamics, the Highway 180 W catchment basins and the rebuilding of the San Vicente Trailhead and creek rehab.
