it ocurs to me, to inject a bit of humor: how these so called "political conservatives" react when challenged by sound, scientific analysis, is like vampires do in films when Van Helsing present them with a crucifix ... or garlic.
Maybe some folks can draw cartoons that depict just how modern GOP candidates reacted when a questioner asked:
Do you believe in Evolution?
Did Jesus Christ roam and rock with the dinos?
Were dinos, Jesus and the Apostles, here at the same time? I don't remember seeing Jesus in the Flintstones!!!!
Did I miss something? After all, if the earth is really only six or ten thousand years old ... what the heyhoo!!!! I mean, really. I'm a Christian. But I don't recall even hard core nuns claiming Jesus romped with the dinosaurs!!!
But what Party would pull out a bunch of real live politicians who would make an oath of allegiance to that notion? So, we have science on our side when we present rebuttals to "passion ... alone." And the other parties won't roll with such silliness.
Passion ... balanced with facts, figures, challenges for the diversionistas to come up with equally substantive facts and analysis.
Once things get into the court system ... all that razmataz ... pumping water over the continental divide ... evaporation rates ... using solar power for such pumps or sucking more energy out of coal fired power plants? I mean, solar pumps would be ideal if pumps are needed. Solar power needs to be integrated into any pumping, diversion or movement ... we'd be insane to not insist use of solar power for any diversion. The environmental impact analyses for that alone will slow things down.
Events around us ... the droughts in California; the draconian methods to conserve water ... the potential for this rainy season being the last best one for awhile ... reverting to drought again ... these events around us will move with climate change ... but then, the other folks don't believe in climate change. To them, it's like raising a crucifix or throwing garlic chips at vampires. Agghhh. Funny to me.I don't know if others think it's funny, but a little humor seems o.k. with me.
We owe a Thank You for all those who've dedicated so much time and energy to watching this mess for 11 years.
