I needed some bees, so I called a local exterminator on the phone. That was this spring. Boy, was he glad to hear from me. He doesn't like killing bees. Said he would share my name/number with other exterminators. I got a few calls...three colonies in buildings, which is a big job requiring doing a "cut out," and one swarm. People, I'm glad to say, don't really want bees killed. They got the message that bees are in trouble. But I'm full-up. No room at the inn. This community needs an energetic beekeeper willing to take this work on. One who can deal with gentle bees, and also with Africanized bees. Fees are typically charged for thus work, plus the beekeeper gets a new colony for his apiary. If I were a young guy again, I'd take it on. This could be a decent side job, but not an easy one. This is an opportunity for someone.

Good to know, Eric. I may call you myself someday to discuss your experience with AHB and Varroa. Both are new to me since I returned to beekeeping in a small way. I know both are here.
