John Crow “Bigler” died at home on April 3rd, 2018. He was a complex man, with many duties. Father, grandfather, great grandfather, healer, craftsman, and most of all he was a questioner. He sought answers to questions most weren’t willing to bring up. He pushed people and made people think. He strived to make this community better, to teach his family and those around him what it means to work with the Earth, with one’s community, to be one as a species. Once he had his mind made up, there was no changing it. He stuck to his thoughts and didn’t look back. He believed we should all stand up as one and fight for our rights to good medicine, understanding, schooling, our rights to true freedom.
John Crow will be missed, his legacy will live on through his family and so many lives that he touched in this community.
Join us on June 2nd @ 11:00 A.M. in the Lions Park in the Big Ditch left of the farmers market, for a celebration of life for John Crow. Music, stories, food. Contact Teja at 575-654-2097 for organization of a potluck.

That celebration of Crow's life was wonderful! In keeping with its spirit, my husband Kelly Hart and I met several people we hadn't known before.

With that photo of him looking out at us, this might be a good thread for people to share memories and tales. Kelly and I are neighbors of Crow's place and we shared several meals with him. One time he wanted to talk with someone who was a good friend of ours and so we arranged a lunch at our place. Great fun to see him grilling our friend!
