The Virginia Street siege began about 4 pm Friday, June 16 when SCPD attempted to serve a federal warrant on Antonio Hernandez at a house on the southeast corner of Virginia Street and Hill. While a woman and her 2 kids fled Antonio barricaded himself inside, Above, a State cop steadies his (her?) rifle on a SCPD car parked on Hill St with a view of the back of the house, a County cop took possion across Virginia St with a view of the front of the house and SCPD cop Click was parked directly in front of the house as if she had attempted to serve the warrant, see below.

By 6:30 it is unclear whether this fits the criteria for the State SWAT team to be dispatched out of Las Cruces but by 7:30 the first swat member arrives from the local office and checks his assault rifle. The rest of SWAT team will be coming from various offices throughout southern NM. In the background is Click at her squad car.

8 pm Click is still there pointing her service revolver at the house which is next door to the big apartment complex on Virginia St.
By 9:30 or so most of the SWAT team with their assault vehicle and canine units have arrived and staging begins. At 11:10 the assault begins with a siren and 2 loud and bright "Flash Bangs" soon followed by a number of gas canisters shot at the windows with some breaking through but still no response from Antonio as has been the case throughout the afternoon and night.
Just before 1 am the dogs, their handlers and some other SWAT members are sent in and Antonio is found hiding in the attic, or so the word went on the street. Around 2 am I hear Click still on scene and then the ambulances, parked in the parking lot on 180 and Virginia since about 5:30 released back to their station.
Still no word about the reason for the warrant; we'll see what the press releases say later today.
