Seven am Wednesday morning the demolition crew from C&C Services, Alb, began the removal of the Red Barn to make way for a Denny's Restaurant. What can sold to recyclers will be with the rest going to the landfill. The back part of the building containing the swimming pool has yet to be brought down.

Just in case we already forgot what it looked Tuesday evening.

One of the bigger jobs after this will be the drilling under the highway at Gold St to bring a water line to Denny's. Though the Red Barn had water it is/was not sufficient to provide a sprinkler system required in modern building codes.

So...that same pile of rubbish has been laying there for months now. Any info on what's going to happen when?

When I drove by yesterday a crew were digging an area for the slab that Denny's will be built on. The only "rubbish" pile I saw was a small pile of broken concrete and dirt yet to be hauled away. Once the slab is placed the building is pretty much a prefab affair but before the slab the builders will have to tunnel under the highway to bring an adequate water supple for a sprinkler system that the Red Barn never had.

Thanks Crow.

So...is this project on an actual schedule? It doesn't appear so.

They haven't yet done the work to bring the needed water line to the future building? Is there some specific delay?

Is there some reason why this is moving so slowly? When they finally do something I think we'll be amazed at how fast it comes together. It's getting to the point of it coming together that seems to be taking an inordinately long time.

And now it looks like the Taco Bell may be undergoing a transformation.
Any information would be appreciated...inquiring minds, etc...
