Tuesday afternoon the people of Grant County and across the country showed their solidarity with the Water Protecters of Standing Rock North Dakota as they object to a multi Billion Dollar large oil pipeline crossing underneath their only water source and through their sacred ground and burial sites. Generally known as DAPL (Dakota Access Pipe Line) the builders first brought their private enforcers with attack dogs but then local and state police took their place as official corporate enforcers.

At its peak the turnout in Silver City reached 75 people lining both sides of Pope Street in front of Wells Fargo Bank, one of the active financiers of the pipeline. While many left and many arrived to replace them the attendance was high while an overwhelming response of honking horns in solidarity went on throughout the 2 hour event.
The lead photo is a 48x72 inch painting of the dog attack early on in the Protective Action by Silver City artist Tom Holt. The painting is not quite done and when it is Tom would like to auction it and contribute the proceeds to the Standing Rock Camp.
