As the international Climate Summit wrapped up Silver City continued with watershed healing. This large project at the corner of west 12th, Mississippi and Rhoda on WNMU property is a series of water channels, catchments and berms (swales) that will control the runoff from the University maintenance lot and buildings and the 2 temporary Faculty Housing units. Next semester the ALDO High School YCC Watershed crew will return to finish mulching and create 2 curb cuts. The upper, inlet cut, will be near the gate into the maintenance lot and move the water through a series of basins and channels in the alley behind the housing units and into the berms in the lawn area seen from the road and overflow onto Rhoda Road.

The work is being done by the ALDO High School YCC Watershed Crew under the supervision of Asher Gerbart and designed by Stream Dynamics and Asher Gerbart.
