Yesterday morning, May 30, I went to check the levitating of the 90 Bridge and all that I saw was one lone Port-A-Potty. I called the DOT Deming office and the PIO said that she was told that work had begun. This morning I finally connected with Brian Torres, DOT project manager who said the contractor IHC just never showed but notified DOT this morning that work wouldn't begin until June 12th because of delays in another job. So that is the official line, that nobody talks to each other.

Update 2, June 12 - work was supposed to begin today, the DOT says the contractor, IHC, says maybe sometime in the last week of June.

Update 3, June 30. It's now been 4 weeks since work by IHC to fix the 90 Bridge was to begin. At last update the work was to begin, "maybe" in the last week of June which has now come and gone. In todays interview with Brian Torres, NM DOT project manager for the whole bridge project he stated the contractor, IHC, now promised they would start on the 5th of July.

When I ask Torres if Mill Road, leading to the trailhead and Griffin Propane will be closed he didn't think so but wasn't sure. I ask Richard Griffin, owner of Griffin Propane who said he had heard something about work to be done but had not been contacted by either the DOT nor IHC.

For those who may have missed my article on what the problem with the bridge read my article HERE
